Billy Mark Gathings, 58, of Rockingham, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg.

The family will see friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the Rankin home, 113 Ivy Trail, Rockingham.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery in Wallace, S.C., with Rev. Mike Rankin officiating.

Mr. Gathings was born July 10, 1953, in Richmond County, a son of the late Buddy James and Effie Parker Gathings. He was a graduate of Rohanen High School and had been employed in landscaping. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, a sister, Betty Harden and a brother James Gathings.

Surviving are his son, Cameron; brothers, Jackie Gathings, Warren Gathings and Stanley Gathings, all of Rockingham; sisters, Rev. Alice Bond and Teresa Rankin, both of Rockingham, and Sarah Williams of Hamlet; and one grandchild.

Carter Funeral Home of Ellerbe is assisting the family.
