FCC NC Training Manager Wayne Cromartie (foreground left) and Richmond Community College President Dale McInnis (right) sign a $15,000 contract for RCC to provide training to the company at no cost through RCC’s Customized Training Program. Customized Training Director Lee Eller (background left) and Workforce and Economic Development Vice President Steve Smith will coordinate classes that include safety and supervisory skills training. The plant, which manufactures clutches for Honda automobiles, ATVs, and motorcycles, qualifies for the services because they have expanded and are introducing new technology to the plant. The plant has relied on RCC for training since it opened in 2001 and has employed RCC graduates in fields ranging from machining and accounting to mechanical engineering.
