Employees at Sandhills Alternative Academy, in Rockingham, went to work Monday in costume and full of Halloween spirit.

“Part of the spirit of Halloween is giving treats, so we decided to give treats to the animal shelter,” said employee April Cowick.

Staff members who wanted to dress for the occasion were encouraged to bring donations for the Humane Society of Richmond County.

“Donations are still coming in, so we’re not sure what we have yet but we’ll be taking food and money to the shelter,” said employee Sissi Liles.
