Marion Horne Ormsby died at Hospice of Scotland County on Sunday October 30, 2011, in Laurinburg, NC. Mrs. Ormsby was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian S. Ormsby and her Son, Adrian Sherrill Ormsby. Survivors include daughter, Marion Martin Ormsby (Gregory E. Bradbury) of New London, NC., Daughter in Law, Virginia Ormsby of Hamlet, NC., Granddaughter, Adrianne “Sunshine” Ormsby Watkins (Gary F. Watkins) & Great - Grandson John Charles (Jack) Watkins of Raleigh, NC.

Mrs. Ormsby was born on July 15, 1921, in Polkton, NC and graduated from Polkton High School. She resided and raised her family in Hamlet, worked for the R. W. Goodman & Co. & owned The Mary Jean Shop.

Visitation for friends will be held from 5:00 – 7:00PM on Tuesday November 1 at Watson – King Funeral Home in Hamlet. A funeral service will be held at The First Baptist Church of Hamlet at 11:00AM on Wednesday November 2.

Entombment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mrs. Ormsby’s name to The First Baptist Church, 208 Charlotte St. Hamlet, NC 28345 and Hospice of Scotland County, P.O. Box 1033 Laurinburg, NC 28353.
