Health care is expensive

Dear Editor,

I have read several letters to the editor that appeared the authors were either out of contact with reality or intentionally presented distortions of misinformation as if they were facts.

My wife, the love of my life, and my best friend, died this year from cancer. She received the best treatment this area has to offer. Her job provided good health insurance. One medicine to prevent blood clots would’ve cost her over $3,000 a month. That’s not counting the chemotherapy, doctor visits, MRIs, CAT scans and radiation therapy. How can any American citizen, religious group, or political party not support good health insurance for all American citizens? Rather than implementing health insurance for all Americans , the party of NO wants to cut the health care to the poor, disabled and elderly.

Under the party of NO, past president baby Bush, said yes to two wasteful wars approaching over a trillion taxpayer dollars. The party of NO says no to tax on the wealthy. Greedy CEOs with million dollar salaries get million dollar bonuses while the average worker has had very little increase. How could the average worker pay for health care without job paid health insurance? How could any American vote for a party that represents the wants of the wealthy and pretends to care about the needs of the voter. I have concluded that many citizens vote against their own interests because too many average voters are not able to do the three “R’s”; Read, Reason and Remember.

My wife was the kindest, most compassionate, sensible, hardworking, loving and wisest person I’ve ever known. Hopefully, where she has passed to has only supportive, kind, compassionate and loving spirits.
