Mrs. Sarah Gray Barrett Goodman, 87, of Rockingham, died Tuesday at the home of her daughter.

Mrs. Goodman was born March 28, 1924, in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Alfred and Ruth Hammer Barrett. She was owner and operator of Revel’s Bar-B-Q, and also a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Otis Goodman in 1991 and one son Otis M. “Junie” Goodman Jr.

She is survived by her son, Ronald G. Goodman and wife, Cynthia and a daughter, Cynthia Altman and husband Dexter, all of Rockingham; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Richmond County Memorial Park graveside with Rev. Chris Hawks officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham from 7 - 9 p.m. and at other times at the home of her daughter.
