Man, 20, arrested on multiple counts of larceny

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged Devin Lee Terrill Tillman, 20, Tillman Road, Rockingham, with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, larceny of a firearm and on a failure to appear for simple possession of marijuana. Tillman was arrested on July 21 for a break-in of a residence that occurred on June 8 on Cherokee Street. During the break-in, two firearms and assorted coins were stolen. Tillman was placed in the Richmond County Jail under a $25,500 secure bond.

The Hamlet Police Department arrested and charged Cynthia Beasley Shepherd, 50, Governor Graham Road, Hamlet, with resisting arrest, felony possession with intent to sell and deliver bath salts, a schedule I controlled substance, and felony possession of morphine, a schedule II controlled substance.

Shepherd confronted her husband at the drive-thru window of Mabry’s Drug Store in Hamlet. She had been on an all-night high from bath salts and was confrontational with her husband. Staff inside Mabry’s witnessed the argument and called police to assist. Upon arrival, officers witnessed the struggle and were able to separate the couple. Officer Clark saw the packet of bath salts in her purse as she was attempting to locate her identification. A further search of her person revealed the remaining narcotics. Shepherd was placed in the Richmond County Jail under a $35,000 secure bond.

Alfonzo Barnett McRae, 43, Heritage Drive, Laurinburg, was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance, driving while license revoked and speeding. Bond was set at $1,500 for McRae.

Arthur Wayne Smith, 46, Morrow Street, Hamlet, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Bond was set at $500 for Smith.
