Mr. Russell Eugene “Rusty” Chavis, 40, 1891 E. US Hwy. 74, Hamlet, died on Sunday, June 12, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Rusty was born, April 15, 1971, in Richmond County, son of Dennis Chavis and Donna Kiker Chavis .
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Harrington Funeral Home, from 7 - 9 p.m.
A Graveside service will be held at Richmond Memorial Park on Thursday, June 16, 2011, at 4 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will follow.
He is preceded in death by his father, the late Dennis Chavis.
Survivors include his mother, Donna Waite and step-father, Jimmy Waite both of Laurel Hill; son, Dylan Wayne Chavis of Rockingham; sisters, Cynthia Chavis Locklear of Hamlet and Rachel Norris of Laurel Hill; and special nephews, Cameron Locklear, Dalton Locklear, Jimmy Williams and Cameron King.
Harrington Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Family of Rusty Chavis.
