It’s official, voting for the cutest kid in Richmond County has begun. Everyone can cast up to five votes per day per child so, if you have a favorite cutie in the contest, be sure to remind your friends and family to participate.
The grand prize is a $300 gas card from Terry Pate Home Sales, in Lumberton.
The winner of the 2-4 age group will take home a new futon from Marie’s Furniture and Appliances, in Rockingham.
Winners from each age category will take home prizes: 0-12 months; 12-24 months; 2-4 years; 4-6 years; 6-9 years; and 9-12 years.
“It’s not to late to enter the contest,” said Daily Journal Publisher Rick Bacon. “Voting started Monday, and you can vote right up until Father’s Day, on June 13.”
As of Monday, 284 photos had poured in for consideration.
“Some of the cutest kids in the county are on the Daily Journal Web site,” said Bacon. “I don’t know how voters are going to choose.”
The contest site is located on the Daily Journal home page, www.yourdailyjournal.com.
“One of the ways that you can get more exposure for your cutest kid is on Facebook,” said Bacon.”You can share your child’s picture and ask all your Facebook friends to vote up to five times per day.”
Covered in ice cream, playing in fountains, driving tractors or striking pretty poses - the kids in this contest are doing some pretty cute, and funny, stuff.
“I’m not sure if the photographers just got lucky, or if they knew what they were doing - but some of these photos are priceless,” said Bacon.
Don’t miss your chance to show off a favorite photo of your little gems - there’s still time to upload them onto the Web site.
