Dear Editor,

Many of you may remember that last year I was asking for sponsorship money to help me go to Europe as a student ambassador with the People To People program. Richmond County was terrific with their support of my efforts.

I am now asking for your continued support by helping my two friends who have been accepted as ambassadors in 2009.

Savannah Bowman is working hard to raise money for the Student Ambassador Program. She will have the chance to explore Europe as I did. She has talked to many organizations and still has appointments to talk to others. She has also sent out numerous letters to people and businesses. She has the “Flamingo Gang” still going on. They have been in Ellerbe area since Nov. 30, 2008.

Thanks for all the people that have given to Savannah and being a real good sport about it all. They will be moving to the Rockingham area soon. Savannah is also getting ready for a fund raiser BBQ on February 13th at Ellerbe First Baptist Church.

Please come out and help support Savannah.

Also, my friend, Emily White will be going to Europe this summer. She has been selling discount food cards and has planned other fund raisers.

Please help these two very deserving students to have the experience that I had thanks to the generosity of Richmond County. There are young people in this county who try to be involved in enriching activities that will change their lives. Help support them.
