Mrs. Rosa Lee Allen died on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Rockingham Manor Nursing Facility in Rockingham.

She was born on July 12, 1933, daughter of the late Henry Sr. and Julia Covington.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Philadelphia United Methodist Church, 157 Philadelphia Drive, Rockingham, with the Rev. Dora R. Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be held Friday, May 6, 2011, from 1 - 7 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Service in Rockingham.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earlie Dean Allen; three brothers, William Covington, Clemmie Covington and Henry Covington Jr.

She is survived by her five children, Teresa Lee Ayres of Georgia, Bettie Jean Ellerbe, Julia Allen, Earl Allen and William Allen, all of Rockingham; one adopted son, Ollie Collins of Sanford; a sister,. Marlene Thomas of Rockingham; brother, Arthur Covington of Rockingham; 21 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Nelson Funeral Service of Rockingham is assisting the family.
