Della Rose

Mrs. Della Meadows Rose, 87, of 161 Earl Franklin Drive, Hamlet, died on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at her home. She was born on Feb. 17, 1923, daughter of the late King and Hepsie Meadows in Onslow County. She was a member of New Bethel AME Zion Church, Hamlet. She worked at Revels for many years and later opened her own store.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 11 a.m. at New Bethel AME Zion Church – 100 Bethel Church Rd. Hamlet with the Rev. Bula C. Legrand, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Mary Love Cemetery.

Public viewing will be held on Friday from 1 - 7 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Service, Hamlet.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rose Sr. one son, Daniel Rose; two sisters, Bessie Taylor and Flossie Staton and three brothers, Charlie Meadows, Dalton Meadows and Jimbo Meadows.

She is survived by five sons, Robert Rose Jr, Dawud Hasan, James Rose, Joseph Rose, and Nathaniel Rose; two daughters, Mary R. Bennett and Wanda Rose all of Dobbins Heights Community;19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
