Two people were injured at 8:55 a.m. Jan. 1 in a collision of motor vehicles on Airport Road at Sandhill Road, the N.C. Highway Patrol said.

Jimmy Jermaine Williams, 22, Caroline Street, Rockingham; and Wendy Michelle Chavis, 36, River Road, Rockingham, were both taken to FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The patrol said Williams was making a left turn from Sandhill Road onto Airport Road when the collision occurred with the vehicle driven by Chavis.

Williams was cited for a yield violation and driving while license revoked.

The 1999 Ford driven by Williams received $2,000 damage; the 2001 Chrysler driven by Chavis, $3,000.
