Zelma Brock Quick

Mrs. Zelma Brock Quick, 79, 102 Bauersfield St., Hamlet, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

She was born in Scotland County, Aug. 25, 1931, daughter of Richard Curtis Brock and Vera Weatherly Brock.

Mrs. Quick was an administrative assistant retiring from Richmond Converters, a member of First Presbyterian Church, volunteered at Hospice and was a member of Home Extension Homemakers Club.

Visitation will be Friday, April 1, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Funeral will be Saturday, April 2, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church, at 2 p.m. with Dr. Mark Carver officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park.

She is preceded in death by her late daughter, Vera Elaine Quick; her parents, Richard Curtis Brock and Vera Weatherly Brock; and sisters, Rosa Sanderson, Virginia Dunn and Blanche Tyner.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Quick of the home; sons, David Quick of Hamlet, Keith Quick of South Port, and Jimmy Quick and wife Amy of Hamlet; brother, Earl Brock of Laurel Hill; and sisters, Ercel Quick of Laurel Hill and Marian Shiver of Jacksonville.
