Have you ever been at a concert and they didn’t play your favorite song? Did you wish you could have put in a request before the show?

If you love the Beatles, you can put in requests for a concert next month.

An all-request Beatles Tribute Show called “Yesterday and Today” is coming to the Cole Auditorium at Richmond Community College. This is an interactive show starring Billy McGuigan. The selection of songs performed in the show is completely up to the audience.

“That is one of the things that makes this show distinctive,” said Cole Auditorium Director Joey Bennett. “The audience is encouraged to fill out cards in the lobby that night naming a Beatles song and the reason that they chose that song. The band members will create a list of songs to play from these cards.”

Each show becomes a unique event as personal stories and memories about the songs are shared. The number of requests dictate the length of the show, but expect anywhere from two-and-half to three hours worth of Beatles music.

The same process happens at intermission as the band prepares for the second act.

“Many members of the community will remember Billy from his appearance at the Cole in 2009. He is one of the most high-energy, dynamic performers I have ever seen on our stage. Our audience was amazed,” Bennett said.

McGuigan last appeared on the Cole stage as a Buddy Holly impersonator, in “Rave On! The Buddy Holly Tribute.”

McGuigan is joined by his brothers Matthew and Ryan for the show. Unlike the Buddy Holly Tribute, the cast of this show will not dress like the Beatles or attempt the accents. The importance is placed on presenting the music in an exciting and well-executed manner.

More information about the performance can be found at www.yesterdayandtodayshow.com.

Tickets can be purchased by calling the Cole Auditorium Box Office at (910) 410-1691 or by visiting the Cole Auditorium. Tickets for the show will be $15 in advance and $19 the night of the show.
