Donna Long Williams, 63, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 28, 1947 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late J.M. “Knock” and Sarah Wright Long.

Mrs. Williams was a life-long member of McDonald Baptist Church. She was partner with her father’s business JM Long Grading Company, Inc. She enjoyed spending time with the family and especially her grandchildren.

A memorial will be conducted Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at 11 a.m. at McDonald Baptist Church with Rev. Delane Burris and Pastor Alex Perakis officiating.

Surviving, her husband of 43 years, Donnie Ray Williams of Rockingham. A son, Scott Williams and wife Kim of Rockingham. A daughter, Shannon Wallace and husband Travis of Rockingham. Grandchildren, Tyler Williams, Natalie Williams, Trace Wallace and Drake Wallace all of Rockingham. A sister, Lyndol Beachum of Marston. A brother, Johnny Long of Rockingham.

The family will greet friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.

She was always happy and had a positive attitude about life. She kept strong faith in God even through her long battle with cancer. Anyone who had a chance to meet her was truly blessed.
