Mrs. Goodwin was born Sept. 12, 1948, in Richmond County, a daughter of the late James Handy and Lillie Mae Norton Goodwin. She was a member of the Midway Baptist Church and had been employed with the Bibb Company.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Lillie Goodwin Lyde and Robert Kyle Lyde Sr. of Rockingham; grandchildren, Robert K. “Robbie” Lyde Jr., Amanda L. Currie and Elizabeth R. Lyde; brothers, Cecil Goodwin and Ronald Goodwin, both of Rockingham and Doug Goodwin of Spartanburg, S.C.; sisters, Rose Peterson of Fayetteville, Sylvia Grooms and Peggy Smith, both of Rockingham.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, in Eastside Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Williams officiating.
The family will be gathering at the Currie home, 188 Haywood Cemetery Road, Rockingham.
