Dear Editor,

In a letter written to the Daily Journal recently a person suggested Americans would not give Obama a chance because of his color.

Nothing could be further from the truth. It was by, and largely, white people that voted Obama in as President. I’m sure they saw him on TV as he campaigned. I’m sure their TVs were in color.

They thought they knew the person they wanted for President. He was their choice. Now they have changed their minds because of his performance and not his color, they had that choice from the start. It was mostly his health care plan that threatened to shut America down and still does. Just look at Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. They sure look white to me.

Everything these three people have done will bring our economy to its knees. We have to repeal and replace everything they have done. To say color is the problem is not facing the hard facts.

I look at it this way. It don't matter who voted for who. If Bush was in it was God who allowed Bush to be in. Now Obama is in. No matter how much Obama loves the gays and abortion and the Muslims, its because God allowed and wanted him in the office. God controls all. But you don't have to believe it.

Sorry pops, the only thing that real progressives are upset about is that Obama softened for the republican thugs.

I wish you understood basic economic theory before you bandied about hyperbolic tripe.

Oh, and the color thing. Take a good look at the history of your letters and tell me that you aren't a sexist, racist curmudgeon. I would cite exact dates/letters but I really don't want to get sick this morning.

I will agree that Bush did not repeal enough of the Clinton banking rules to keep the banks from going under however, it was Clinton's actions that caused the crisis. Why did the banks fail? Because Democrats forced banks to lend to those who could not repay their loans. Bush had nothing to do with that. Obama reaped that problem, as well - but he has done nothing but add to the problem. He's a a socialist that embraces facism.

Obama has had to renege on his plan to turn America into a socialist nation because the majority believe in American values and principles that our nation was founded on

This has been a bitter pill for him to swallow

No Wezley, the guilt and shame falls on those who put President Bush in office. Bush was the person who put this country into the mess it is in.

President Obama is slowly getting the economy working again. This is what the neo-cons hate, they want the country to fail. Get over it, Obama is President and you can not stand it!
