N.C. Governor Beverly Perdue and N.C. Representative Garland Pierce shared ideas about economic development and the future of the State during a Q&A session at Richmond Community College's Honeycutt Center in Laurinburg on Tuesday.

The event was hosted by RCC and the Laurinburg/Scotland County Chamber of Commerce. Scotland County elected officials and community leaders shared their ideas for industrial recruitment and their concerns about changes in government spending. Perdue encouraged leaders to keep her abreast of their needs. Regarding budget cuts, she said the State has grown because of its investment in education and economic development and pledged her support to keep those areas strong.
