John Martin and Sommer Rushing
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rushing of Gibson, the late James “Sonny Boy” Paul of Ghio, and the Mr. and Mrs. John Schmit of Hamlet. She attended Scotland County High School and Richmond Community College and currently attends the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Beverly Martin and the late John Martin, Mr. and Mrs. John Barker, and Mr. and Mrs. William Long all of Sanford. He attended Lee Senior High School and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is employed at Rockingham Middle School.
The wedding will be held on Jan. 1, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Hopewell Independent Baptist Church.
