Mrs. Steen was born Nov. 12, 1935 in Scotland County, a daughter of Jim Walters and Ellen Williams Walters. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.
Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, at Harrington Funeral Home from 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the Harrington Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Wilkes officiating. Burial will follow at King’s Cemetery, Laurel Hill.
Mrs. Steen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willard Steen; son, Harold Steen; sister, Beulah Mae Walters; and brothers, Zeb, Lindsay, Seldon, and JC Walters.
She is survived by her daughters, Alice Murchinson and Juanita Quick, both of Hamlet, Martha Estridge of Cordova and Virginia Miller of Florida; sons, Harl Steen, Carl Steen, Bobby Steen, Richard Steen, and Gary Steen all of Hamlet and Jeff “Howley” Steen of Wallace, S.C.; twin brother, Johnnie Walters of Bennettsville, S.C.; 36 grandchildren and 57 great-grandchildren.
