Mrs. Jessie Davis Teal, 79, of Raeford, formerly of Rockingham, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008 at Open Arms Retirement Center in Raeford. She was born April 19, 1929 in Wayne County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late George Washington Davis, Sr. and Beulah Mayo Davis.

Mrs. Teal was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rockingham and Outreach Sunday School Class.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Dec. 29, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Nanney officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont, NC.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Warren H. Teal of Pinehurst; a daughter, Donna Kay Teal of Greensboro; a son, David Teal and wife Barbara of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jennifer Michelle Lambert and Joshua David Teal; two great grandchildren and a brother, George W. Davis Jr. of New Bern.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham.
