To the editor:

Free speech is one thing; stupidity is another thing.

I am making this statement in response to the current Muslim cartoon controversy, the debate concerning free speech, the filth coming out of Hollywood and the filth being broadcast on television.

I think I have found the answer to these contentious arguments. The solution is found in the Book of Philippians 4:8. It reads: “Finally, brethren (Jews, Christians, Muslims and non-believers) whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think (and write) on these things.”

And finally, a commandment from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ: “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” (John 15:12)
