ELLERBE — The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a triple homicide in Ellerbe.

Sheriff James E. Clemmons Jr. tells the Daily Journal that one male and two females have been killed, but names have not been released pending notification of family members.

Clemmons also said that a suspect — whose name also is not yet being released — has been taken into custody.

The Sheriff said the incident happened on Robinson Avenue, off of 4th Street.

The N.C. State Bureau of Investigation is assisting the sheriff’s office in the investigation.
