HOFFMAN — A Moore County man is wanted in connection to a Tuesday murder attempt after deputies say his two accomplices were caught earlier this week.

Deputies were still searching for 21-year-old Tevin Barrington Spencer — who is considered to be armed and dangerous — early Thursday afternoon. He is from the Southern Pines area and the Southern Pines Police Department is assisting deputies in the investigation.

SHOTS INTO HOME

Richmond County sheriff’s deputies say 31-year-old Anisha Nicole McLean, of Hailey Ames Road in Hoffman, drove 23-year-old Jason Marcus McLean and 21-year-old Tevin Barrington Spencer — both from Moore County — to a home on James Kelly Drive Tuesday afternoon to kill a man the woman was having domestic issues with.

When they arrived, the two men fired an unspecified amount of shots into the home — occupied by two children — with handguns, according to deputies. The intended target, Quenton D’Angelo Zinnerman, was in the backyard.

No one was injured during the incident.

After the attempt on Zinnerman’s life, the suspects fled the scene.

SUSPECTS CAUGHT

Anisha McLean was arrested later that day following a traffic stop during the investigation. She was initially charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder and jailed under a $100,000 bond. However, deputies later added two additional attempted murder charges and a charge of discharging a firearm into an occupied property and her bond was raised to $350,000.

Jason McLean was arrested on Wednesday and charged with three counts of attempted first-degree murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied property. He was booked into the Richmond County Jail under a $350,000 bond.

Online court records show he has several other pending charges in Moore County: possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, selling cocaine, delivering cocaine, felony possession of cocaine and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Anyone with information on Spencer’s whereabouts is encouraged to call the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 910-895-3232 or Richmond County Crime Stoppers at 910-997-5454.

Both men have several previous felony and misdemeanor convictions in Moore County.

McLean served a month behind bars following a 2011 conviction of common-law robbery. He has also been convicted on misdemeanor charges of possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and having a dangerous weapon on state property.

Spencer’s record includes felony convictions on charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of common-law robbery and six charges related to breaking and entering and larceny.
