Justin Jackson

IRVING, Texas (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys have signed former Richmond Senior and Wake Forest standout linebacker Justin Jackson.

Jackson signed with Detroit as an undrafted free agent last year. He was on the practice squads in Cincinnati, Washington and Oakland last season.

The Raiders cut Jackson last month.

In his senior season at Wake Forest, Jackson had 56 tackles and two sacks. As a junior in 2012, Jackson led the Demon Deacons with 81 tackles. He added 8 1/2 tackles for loss and four sacks.

By signing Jackson, the Cowboys are back to the 90-man roster limit.

Jackson is expected to join the squad for this week’s organized team activities.

Last season as an undrafted rookie free agent, Jackson recorded five tackles in four preseason games with Detroit and Minnesota. He appeared in two games with the Lions before being released and picked up by the Vikings for the final two contests.
