ROCKINGHAM — Next week is going to keep the Richmond Senior football team occupied, to say the least.

Though they are preparing for their first game against Rocky River on Friday, Aug. 19, coach Mike Castellano’s “take it one day at a time” philosophy is going to be much needed within the next week or so.

Below is the the football team’s schedule from today, Aug. 6, until next Friday, Aug. 12:

Saturday: Players are to report to the high school’s practice field at 7: 30 a.m. for practice.

There will be a parent meeting at 11 a.m. in the school cafeteria for all players (grades 9-12).

Sunday: Off day

Monday: Practice from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Tuesday: Practice begins at 7:30 a.m. Team pictures will be taken from 1-2 p.m.

Wednesday: Players are to report to the high school at 7:30 a.m.

Scrimmages begin on the practice field at 10 a.m. and will run through 12:30 a.m. Cleveland, Millbrook, Reagan, St. Pauls and Union Pines will all be in attendance. There is a $3 fee for the public.

Thursday: Practice begins at 7:30 a.m.

Friday: All-day jamboree starts at 12:45 p.m.

The Ninth-Grade Academy’s team is set to play at 1:30 p.m., junior varsity at 3 p.m. and varsity around 6 p.m. Admission is $5.
