ROCKINGHAM — Great music, great people and a great night.

Last Friday, July 22, a handful of Richmond County student-athletes (and a few coaches) got the opportunity to attend the ninth annual “All About Him” event that took place at the Pinecrest High School Auditorium — thanks to Kenneth Robinette, chairman of the Richmond County Board of Commissioners.

Robinette purchased tickets for every student-athlete who was interested in attending the event that featured Christian musician Chris August and Carolina Panthers players Jonathan Stewart and Thomas Davis.

“It was brought to my attention and I thought it was very worthwhile,” Robinette explained. “Kids don’t always get the opportunity to meet and greet great role models. And it also gives them the opportunity to hear a concert, motivational speakers and testimonies.”

The event, which is presented by Moore’s County “Moore4Jesus,” began with a meet-and-greet with Davis and Stewart, followed by each player’s testimony and a musical performance by August.

“Those guys are great speakers and everbody can identify with them,” Robinette added. “It was a great experience for them. I was happy to do and I hope they enjoyed it.”

Student-athletes from Scotland County and Pinecrest were also in attendance.
