AC Rock to hold soccer tryouts

ROCKINGHAM — The AC Rock travel soccer team — affiliated with AC Sandhills out of Pinehurst — will hold tryouts next Saturday, May 28, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Richmond Senior High School soccer field. Tryouts will be for the U-15 team’s upcoming 2016-17 season.

“Our goal is to teach soccer at a higher level than they may get just playing recreation,” U-15 coach Pat Moss said. “We teach the technical and team aspect of the game. We play tournaments and showcases in North and South Carolina.”

Those who wish to tryout must have been born after the year 2002 and will need cleats and shinguards to participate.
