Hamlet sets initial football practice
Anyone playing football for Hamlet Middle School this coming season should be at the schools football field at 4 p.m. on Aug. 14. Players should bring cleats, shorts and T-shirts. They must have physicals in order to participate and must have five days of conditioning before receiving any gear. For information, contact the school at 910-582-7903.
Cross country practice set for RSHS
Richmond Senior’s first cross country practice for any interested runners is set for 6:30 p.m. Monday at Hinson Lake. All runners should have an updated physical. For information, contact coach Reggie Miller at 910-206-1914.
Rockingham opens youth soccer registration
The Rockingham Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting youth soccer registrations until Aug. 10. The cost is $25 for city residents and $45 for non-city residents. There will be an additional $6 charge if the child is not currently insured by the department. Participants must be at least 4 years of age on or before Aug. 1 and cannot turn 16 by the same date. Soccer signups to continue in Hamlet
Youth soccer registration for the city of Hamlet Parks and Recreation Department will continue during a late registration period that runs through today. The cost is $40 during the late registration period. Signups will be accepted at Hamlet City Hall from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Participants must have turned 4 years old by April 30 and cannot have turned 13 by the same date. For information, contact the Hamlet Parks and Recreation Department at 910-582-7998.
Adult basketball league to begin
The city of Hamlet Parks and Recreation Department will have an adult over 30 basketball league. Signups for teams or individuals is currently being accepted until today. The cost is $250 for teams and $35 for individuals. Anyone who registers as an individual will be placed on a team if there are enough players.
