ROCKINGHAM — Outreach for Jesus claimed the A-bracket championship in the Richmond County church softball tournament Thursday night at East Rockingham Park.

Outreach for Jesus, the regular-season champions, stopped Jefferson Park Free Will Baptist, the regular-season runners-up, in the title tilt.

In the B-bracket, King’s Gate beat Mount Olive Baptist for that championship.

Robby Lewis of Hamlet Church of God and Harold Tedder from Faith were selected as co-coaches of the year.

Cheraw Baptist was awarded the Woody Gunter Team Sportsmanship Award.

Tommy Wilkes received the Doug Garner Memorial plaque.

There was an individual sportsmanship all-star team as well as a “team before self” all-star squad. The “team before self” all-star team was in honor of Eddie Barrington and the sportsmanship all-star team was sponsored by Woody Gunter.
