On Friday, March 22, the lodge will open it’s doors to sell homemade chicken and dumplings from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The plates, which will sell for $6, will include chicken and dumplings, cole slaw, green beans and homemade dessert.

According to Mason Jim Barbee, proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards the Oxford Orphanage, also called The Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, the WhiteStone in Greensboro and lodge maintenance. This fundraiser is one of three the lodge does every year.

The plates can be eat in or take out and delivery is available for orders of five or more. For more information on the fundraiser, or to place an order, call 910-582-4039. Hamlet Masonic Lodge #532 is located at 307 Main St., Hamlet.

The Richmond County Schools Education Foundation recently presented students at Hamlet Middle School with new laptops for a mobile computer lab. The Foundation was established with the purpose of raising funds that have a direct impact on student learning in a positive and visible way to prepare students for 21st century life. The group is currently working to provide Richmond Senior High School with 30 new laptop computers to boost accessibility to new online testing. The Foundation will hold its 8th annual golf tournament fund raiser on Friday, June 21, 2013, at Longleaf Golf & Country Club, and is looking for sponsors and players to join the cause to support the students of Richmond County.
