The North Carolina State Highway Patrol announced a new addition to its team on Thursday. Trooper Chance Lindley, 24, is the newest member to join the State Highway Patrol in Richmond County. The Rockingham Police Department promoted five law enforcement officers to various positions on Wednesday. “This is a big day in the Rockingham Police Department,” said Monty Crump, city manager. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of a traffic crash on Blewitt Falls Road in Rockingham on March 8 that killed two people.
