How to file for custody without a lawyer
by Staff Report

Legal Aid of North Carolina, Pittsboro, is holding a clinic at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, in the conference room of the Rockingham library, 412 E. Franklin St., Rockingham.

At the clinic you will be given the paperwork and instructions to file for custody and/or visitation without an attorney (also known as Pro Se filing). The clinic is only for persons who need general information only; attorneys will not give specific advice on individual matters.

The requirements for the clinic are to be financially eligible for legal aid services and not have a currently pending or filed custody or visitation action.

Legal Aid of North Carolina is a statewide nonprofit law firm that provides free legal services in civil matters to low-income people.

For more information call 910-521-2831 or 800-554-7852.
