The men of Sandhill Boys BBQ Cooking Team smoked about 1,200 pounds of chicken and pork on Tuesday for the annual fundraiser to help the Rockingham Rescue Squad. The East Rockingham Fire Department let the Sandhill Boys use their facilities to cook the food. BBQ plates will be sold for $7 and there will be a choice between pork and chicken. The plates will include BBQ, baked beans, cole slaw, bread and a dessert. The proceeds will go towards maintaining the Rescue Squad’s building, equipment and also helping the squad go to emergency calls. The plates will be sold at the Rockingham Rescue Squad building on 1004 Rockingham Road on Friday, May 3, from 11 a.m. until the BBQ runs out.
