Richmond County Daily Journal

Contributed photo | Sgt./K-9 Handler Travis Bowman and Deputy/K-9 handler Josh Chermak came to Washington Street School to complete a demonstration with Mrs. Chermak's second grade class. To open the school year, Mrs. Chermak completed a unit using the story of Officer Buckle and Gloria, which focuses on an officer and his partner (a dog) teaching safety tips to the students of an elementary school. To end the unit, Richmond County Sheriff’s Office came out and did a demonstration with their partners. The officers talked with the students as well as showed the students how the police dogs work with them on a daily basis.
