Senior Tyrone Crowder, a football player for the Richmond Raiders, spoke with a room full of students at Big Pine Retreat in Hamlet on Friday, April 26. Crowder talked about his path to success, as well as the importance of maintaining good grades, good behavior and knowing how to face challenges in a positive way. “For me, there are people in the stands — teachers, families, my coaches — and I’ve got to be a good example for them,” Crowder said. The offensive lineman also talked to students about surrounding themselves with the right kinds of people and controlling their tempers in difficult situations. Crowder announced earlier in the year that he plans to play football at Clemson University this fall. At Richmond Senior High, he is an honor roll student and a member of the school senate.
