A Rockingham lawyer has been arrested on drug charges after a detailed investigation by the Rockingham Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, according to a news release dated today from the Rockingham Police Department.
John William Roebuck Jr., 42, was arrested on April 24 and charged with two counts of trafficking in opiates and one count of maintaining a dwelling for possession of narcotics, according to police.
Rockingham Police Detective Sergeant Donavan Young said the opiates were pain pills.
“He was arrested without incident and taken to the Richmond County Jail where he was given a $25,000 secured bond,” the news release said.
A court date has been scheduled for May 9.
Roebuck is an attorney with the Rockingham law firm of Daniel & Roebuck, PLLC. The firm handles workers compensation, social security disability and traffic cases, according to its website.
