A local praise band is competing in a gospel music competition for best gospel talent on the East Coast.
DiVine VII, a praise band made up of seven members from Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Rockingham, is one of many bands selected by L.J. Brown Enterprises to take the stage in this regional competition at Hill Song Church in Chapel Hill on Saturday, May 25, at 5 p.m.
The event is open to the public. Admission tickets in advance for adults is $12, at the door $15, in advance for youth and seniors $8 and at the door $10. Youth are younger than 12 and seniors are 60 and older.
The bands will be evaluated by music industry professionals on their talent, appearance, and stage presence. In addition to the written evaluations, the bands will receive a private verbal critique.
First place winner wins a professional photo shoot and studio recording CD. Also trophies to be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place.
This contemporary praise band joined together about three years ago and the band’s music is positive and uplifting.
They have started a fund and are asking for community support. You can donate as little as a dollar and every one of those are greatly appreciated, say band members.
