Short stacks for big change is back
by Staff Report

You can contributed to a variety of county programs and organizations through Civitan when you purchase a pancake breakfast on June 1.

An all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast will be $7, from 7:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at FATZ, 714 Highway 74, hosted by the Civitan Club of Rockingham.

“We normally give away $10,000 a year locally,” said past Civitan president Richard Martin.

Martin said a youth in need in Richmond County will received a $1,000 scholarship, and another youth will receive a scholarship to help assist them with their GED.

Proceeds collected by Civitan go to Our Daily Bread, Leath Memorial Library, Richmond County Special Olympics, Samaritan Colony, the annual Children’s Christmas Party and other organizations like Boys and Girls Home of N.C., Victory Junction Camo, Junior Civitan and the CiviSaurus children’s magazine.
