William Howard Jackson, 65, 684 Saron Church Road, Ellerbe, died on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2012, at U.N.C. Chapel Hill.

Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, at Saron Baptist Church, Ellerbe. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, at McLendon Funeral Home, Ellerbe.

Jackson was born July 27, 1947, in Richmond County, a son of Ellen Jackson Davis. He worked in the textile industry.

Survivors include his mother, Ellen Davis of Ellerbe, three daughters, Charleen Jackson of Rockingham, Kimberly Jackson of Apex, and Carol David of Wilmington, two sons, Timothy Jackson of Gastonia, Norman Jackson of Raleigh, two sisters, Miriam Shoffer of Ellerbe, Regina Simmons of Fuquay Varina, a brother, Rev. Sumual Jackson of Fuquay Varina and six grandchildren.

McLendon Funeral Home, Ellerbe, is assisting the family.
