Daniel Quinn Bowers, formerly of Rockingham, son of Angela and Dan Hensel of Cornelius, NC, graduated on Saturday, May 12, from the University of North Carolina Charlotte with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He is a member of the Mu Chapter of the Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars. In addition to Computer Science, he studied Mandarin Chinese and studied abroad in 2011 at the Shaanxi Normal University, Xi’an, China. At age 18, Daniel co-founded Creative VPS, a managed hosting company offering virtual private servers based out of Charlotte, NC, and Queens, NY, which he successfully sold in June, 2009. He is currently employed as a Research Assistant at the College of Computing and Informatics at UNC Charlotte. Daniel’s hobbies include computer programming, piano and guitar. Daniel is the grandson of Katherine Bowers and Mickey Bowers and the great-grandson of Dot Long, all of Rockingham.
