A utility company has filed a complaint with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office about damage created by four-wheel vehicles, Capt. J. K. Glidewell said.
The incident is reported as damage to real property and second-degree trespassing.
At a utility right-of-way on Myers Lane off Freeman Mill Road, Hamlet, four-wheel vehicles have created $4,000 worth of damage which is creating erosion of the property.

Other incidents reported to the sheriff’s office include:
n Someone threw a rock at a vehicle driven by a Lexington man on U.S. 74 Bypass at Exit 311 causing $400 damage to the windshield.
n At a house on Capel Mill Road, Norman, someone kicked in a door and stole $8,050 worth of property.
n A trailer door was pried open at a residence on U.S. 1 North, Rockingham, and $160 worth of electronic gaming equipment was stolen.

Incidents reported to the Rockingham Police Department include:
n An 11-year-old girl was banned from a store on Biltmore Drive, Rockingham, after she was suspected of stealing $2.50 worth of candy.
n At an apartment on Cauthen Drive, Rockingham, someone stole $200 and personal cards.
n A $50 heater reported stolen from a house on Blewett Avenue, Rockingham, was discovered in a pawn shop.
n A store at Falling Creek Plaza Shopping Center told police a suspect stole $105.59 worth of items.
n Amber Dawn Malpass, 29, Rosa Street, Rockingham, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of larceny. Bond was set at $1,000.
n A vehicle parked in a lot at Falling Creek Plaza Shopping Center was scratched causing $300 damage.
n Matthew Dale Knight, 17, Aslington Street, Rockingham, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of second-degree trespass. Bond was set at $500.
