An accident around 8 a.m. Tuesday morning at the intersection of North Lee Street and Greene Street left two drivers and a passenger hospitalized.

Adriana Ivette Cortes-Silva, 36, Fairley Drive, Rockingham, and Christopher Lee Parker, 35, Alsace Avenue, Rockingham, and one passenger were involved in the accident after Cortes-Silva attempted to turn left onto Greene Street off of Lee Street. As she turned, Parker, who was traveling south on Lee Street, struck Cortes-Silva’s Nissan on the passenger side, according to reports provided by the Rockingham Police Department.

Both parties were then transported to FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries.

At the time of the collision, Parker’s estimated speed coming down the hill on Lee Street was 35 miles per hour.

Greene Street lies at the bottom of the hill.

Cortes-Silva was cited with failure to yield to right-of-way violation and operating without a licensed driver.

Damage to Cortes-Silva’s 2002 Nissan was estimated at $3,000 and Parker’s 1997 Ford estimated damage was $2,000.
