Hamlet Police responded to a structure fire on Raleigh Street around 1:35 p.m. on Nov. 4 after a woman fell asleep holding a cigarette.
The police department received calls from residents on Raleigh Street in regards to smoke rising from a residence.
A woman, identified in the report as the same woman who entered the home and pulled the homeowner out of the house by her legs, made the 911 call.
When officers arrived on scene the victim was in the front yard.
The homeowner was transported to Sandhills Regional Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
Damage to the home and furniture attributed to smoke and fire was estimated at $5,100.
Other incidents reported to the Hamlet Police Department include:
n A Hamlet woman reported being assaulted by three unknown suspects as she entered her home. She noted it was two females and one male.
n On Bauersfield Lane, someone reported their black beagle stolen. The dog is valued at $100.
n A building on Veteran’s Drive was reported being broken into.
n More than $40 worth of medications were stolen from a home on West Hamlet Avenue.
n Flower pots and flowers were stolen from a home on Charlotte Street. The property was valued at $60.
n Someone on Oak Avenue reported a trailer valued at $1,200 stolen from their home. Likewise, a winch worth $100 was stolen.
Arrests reported by the Hamlet Police Department include:
n Richard Lee Sweatt Jr., 17, West Hamlet Avenue, Hamlet, was arrested for misdemeanor breaking and entering, misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon and misdemeanor simple possession. Bond was set at $1,000.
n Tammie Rivenbark Castillo, 32, Harper Street, Hamlet, was arrested for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and misdemeanor open container. He was released with a written promise to appear in court.
n Dwight Douglas Fairley, 53, Hamlet Lake Court, Hamlet, was arrested for second-degree trespassing and misdemeanor simple possession of marijuana. His bond was set at $500.
n Derrick Jermain Wall, 22, Battley Dairy Road, Hamlet, was arrested for misdemeanor driving with license revoked. Bond was set at $500.
n Joshua Dylan Henderson, 19, Ross Harris Road, Asheboro, was arrested for felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to seriously injure. Bond was set at $25,000.
Arrests reported by the Rockingham Police Department include:
n Grover Wayne Roller, 33, Roberdel Road, Rockingham, was arrested for misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and misdemeanor failure to appear. Bond was set at $500.
n Michelle Nichole McLaurin, 29, 7th Avenue Aleo, Rockingham, was arrested for misdemeanor larceny. Bond was set at $500.
n Misty Noel Brigman, 19, Maple Avenue, Hamlet, was arrested for simple affray. Bond was set at $500.
n Ashley Ann Green, 23, McDonald Avenue, Hamlet, was arrested for simple affray. Bond was set at $500.
n Timothy Torrell Davis, 41, East Washington Street, Rockingham, was arrested for misdemeanor shoplifting. He was released with a written promise to appear in court.
Incidents reported by the Rockingham Police Department include:
n A business on East Broad Avenue reported over $110 worth of merchandise stolen.
n Someone on Bunker Street reported a man taking $10 worth of Hydrocodone from their home.
n A home on South Carolina Street was broken into and $1,350 worth of jewelry and cash missing when the homeowner discovered it. A door jam was also damaged.
n A bank on East Broad Street reported someone embezzling money through an employee.
n A local man reported a check book stolen and someone using said checks to obtain money and property. So far, the man reported $150 used.
n A vehicle owner reported their car damaged on Steele Street while at work. Damage is estimated at $300.
n A bank on West Washington Street reported finding a counterfeit $20 in a deposit.
n A man reported a breaking and entering of his vehicle and a .40 caliber gun stolen.
n Someone on East Washington Street reported an assault on a female.
n Police reported a drug overdose in the parking lot of a restaurant.
Arrest reports published in the Richmond County Daily Journal are copied from local law enforcement records.
