Most of us were taught at an early age that the Bible was all truth with no errors. We were also taught that seventy Hebrew elders translated the Hebrew into Latin.
Both of these teachings are wrong, a legend.
The Latin was translated by one man, supposed to be named Je-rome, who answered to Pope Damasus at that time. The Pope has 70 cardinals, one of them usually replaces him upon his death. If Jerome is a made up word, then seventy elders from the Catholic church changed the Greek into Latin.
In Acts chapter seven at verse sixteen, Stephen confirms Abraham buys a plot of land to bury Sarah and those in his family at later dates. In Genesis chapter twenty three verse sixteen, Abraham buys the field for 400 shekels of silver. In Joshua (Yehowshua) chapter twenty four, Jacob (Yaa’qob) buys the same field for 100 pieces of silver. So we find that the field was paid for two times with two different sums of money by two different men. I would say the translators all through all the translations of scripture made an error on this deal.
Most of us who study the Hebrew also study the Bible carefully, we use any source of information as long as it contains truth. We search the Hebrew, the Greek and Latin for truth or error. The one above gave each of us a mind to use, he said to search all things. He said for me to study to show myself approved, the preacher will not stand up when he calls my name, I will.
Thousands of Bibles have been printed with Second Kings chapter 19 and Isaiah chapter 37 identical in doctrine. Psalms chapter 14 and Psalms 53 are also identical in doctrine.
This has been a waste of paper for 2,000 years. All four chapters are the same, only the verses are different.
