Seniors get to enjoy Christmas at an exclusive event sponsored by the Cole Foundation, Richmond County Government and East Rockingham Senior Center.

The event is free and you must be at least 60 years old to attend the 34th annual Senior Christmas Party.

“We are also doing a canned food drive,” said Jacqueline Braddock, executive director of the Richmond County Aging Services. “For each canned food item you bring you will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card to Walmart. No expired food will be accepted.”

Twenty different vendors will be set up, ranging from United Way to Senior Games. Seniors can also speak with pharmacy representatives, learn about hospice and pick up “to go” fruit bags.

The party will be held at Cole Auditorium in Hamlet on Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to noon, and from 2 to 5 p.m.

Tickets can be reserved now by calling 910-997-4491 or by visiting a local senior center.
