Recipients of the J.C. and Ruth P. Watkins Scholarship were recognized on Sunday, June 24, at Mt. Zion United Church of Christ in Rockingham.
Lee McRae, a recent graduate of East Carolina University, was the guest speaker.
Since the scholarship was established, approximately $14,600 has been awarded to deserving students.
This year’s recipients include Georgiana Lasalle, who was awarded $300 in scholarship funds, Lee McRae, who received $500, Joseph Little, awarded a $1,000 scholarship, Kaylan Little, who received $300, and Amani Jarvis, who was awarded a $500 scholarship.
