The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday released a police sketch of a suspect wanted for a rape in September.

On Nov. 6 the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sexual assault. The victim, an 18-year-old female, stated that a black male, 40-50 years old, 5’08”-5’10”, 170-180 pounds, with close cut hair, forced his way into her house when she answered the door. The male raped the victim and threatened her not to tell anyone, lawmen said.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking for any assistance to help identifying and locate this suspect, and released the sketch of him to media outlets on Thursday.

The incident occurred on Sept. 18, 2012, in the Wiregrass Road area of Hamlet, the Sheriff’s Office said.
