Ruby Solomon Ashworth, 76, of Rockingham died, Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at First Health Richmond Memorial Hospital in Rockingham. She was born August 24, 1936 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Marshall Thomas Solomon and Irene Perkins Solomon.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, in the chapel of Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet with Rev. Ronnie McLean officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet.

Mrs. Ashworth retired with Georgia Pacific in Hamlet as a supply manager. She had attended Maple Street Free Will Baptist Church, where she was the pianist for a number of years.

Ashworth is survived by her children, Larry Keith Ashworth of Rockingham, John Marshall Ashworth of Hamlet, Joni Lynn Ellis of Richland W. Va., and Andy Ashworth of Rockingham; eight grandchildren; and one sister, Hazel Bryant of Hamlet.
